COVID-19 and the effects on our club

The last six months have certainly been interesting, that fateful week in March we went from a bustling gym with almost 500 gymnasts enjoying our programs, 27 staff and bright happy faces all over the gym. Then within 1 week and with 12hrs notice we were forced to turn the lights off, walk out, lock the door, stand down all our staff and wonder how on earth we were going to get through this.

We know that when we return and the government and rent relief ceases we are going to need everyone's support to keep our lights on and our doors open.

Here's how you can help:

  • Contribute by way of a financial donation (see below)
  • Donate back the Enrolment refund offered (Recreational members)
  • Purchase merchandise from our new store HERE
  • If you think you can help in any other way, please contact us HERE.

What have we being doing since closure

Because of some assistance from the government and Essendon Fields we have been able to offer classes to our gymnasts and coaches to keep them engaged and connected.

This is what we have been doing:
  • Free online content to our current recreational gymnasts
  • Zoom sessions for our current squad gymnasts.
  • Online pre-recorded sessions for all to purchase
  • Zoom sessions for our recreational classes
  • We've been planning for our return to make the transition as safe and regulatory as possible.

Our Story

Around 37 years ago, Niddrie Gymnastics started in a small hall at Bowes Avenue, Niddrie, then moved for a short time to a hall in Fraser Street, Airport West. 29 years ago we moved to our current facility at Essendon Fields. During this time we have provided thousands of children with quality gymnastics programs and have become one huge Niddrie family to so many over the years.

Our Not-for-profit club has seen years of hard work and dedication from volunteer committee members, coaches and staff who have all played a major role in helping our club become the successful community club it is today.
Let's keep our story going.
